Important Installation Notes
- Connect the CT primary in series with the test current loop; the secondary must operate in short-circuit state.
- The secondary circuit must never be left open — do not install a fuse on this side.
-
Never open-circuit the secondary side. Always connect wiring to the secondary side first, then the primary. When removing, disconnect the primary side first, then the secondary.
- Ensure wire diameter matches hole diameter; select a specification with an inner hole diameter larger than your wire diameter. Fully fasten the opening/closing surfaces until you hear a clear "click" — the latch must be completely locked.
- This transformer measures alternating current only (50/60Hz).

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a split-core current transformer and how does the PZKHCT work?
A: A split-core current transformer (CT) clamps around an existing cable without cutting or disconnecting it. The PZKHCT uses a snap-joint mechanism: open the clamp, place it around the cable, and close until you hear a click. It then measures the alternating current flowing through the cable (up to 100A) and outputs a proportional 100mA signal, which is fed into your energy meter for accurate power monitoring.
Q: Can I install this current transformer without turning off the power?
A: Yes — one of the key advantages of the PZKHCT split-core design is that it installs directly onto the live cable without the need to cut power or interrupt your circuit. Simply snap it around the conductor and secure it with a nylon tie. Always follow the wiring sequence instructions: connect the secondary side first, then the primary, for safe installation.
Q: Is this transformer compatible with both 220V and 380V systems?
A: Yes. The PZKHCT is designed for use with energy meters on both AC 220V and AC 380V power supply systems, operating at frequencies of 50Hz or 60Hz, making it suitable for a wide range of residential and commercial applications.
Q: What cable size can fit through the 16mm inner hole?
A: The inner hole diameter is 16mm, accommodating most standard cables used in residential and light commercial wiring. Always verify that the outer diameter of your cable is smaller than 16mm before installation, and ensure the latch locks fully with an audible click for a secure fit and accurate reading.
