Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are these push button alligator clips used for?

A: These push button alligator clips are designed as test lead accessories for professional multimeters and other electrical test instruments. They allow you to quickly and securely attach leads to wires, component legs, or terminals during continuity, voltage, and resistance measurements.

Q: What size banana plug fits the 4mm socket on these alligator clips?

A: The tail of each alligator clip features a standard 4mm banana plug socket. Only 4mm banana plugs can be inserted — the socket is designed for plug-in connection only and is not suitable for soldering.

Q: How wide can the alligator clip jaw open?

A: Each clip jaw opens up to 6mm, making it compatible with a wide variety of wire gauges, component leads, and terminal tabs commonly encountered in electronics testing and hobby projects.

Q: What materials are the alligator clips made from?

A: The tooth/jaw section is made from ABS plastic, while the lower teeth conductors are nickel-plated brass for reliable electrical conductivity. The outer protective housing is also ABS plastic, providing full insulation for safer handling.

Q: Do the alligator clips come with batteries?

A: No batteries are required or included. These are passive connectors that simply bridge your test leads to the component or circuit under test.
