Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are olive wood knife handle blanks used for?

A: Olive wood knife handle blanks are solid pieces of wood shaped and sized specifically for crafting custom knife grips. They can also be used for chisels, awls, and other hand tool handles. You shape, drill, and finish each blank to fit your blade's tang, creating a fully personalized, handcrafted handle.

Q: What finish can I apply to an olive wood handle blank?

A: Olive wood takes a wide range of finishes excellently. Popular choices include food-safe mineral oil or beeswax for kitchen knives, tung oil or linseed oil for a natural matte look, or a clear lacquer for a glossy, protective coat. Light sanding through progressive grits (up to 400–600) before finishing will bring out the wood's natural luster and grain depth.

Q: How many pieces are included in one order?

A: Each order includes 1 piece of olive wood handle blank measuring 120 mm × 40 mm × 8 mm, weighing approximately 43 g. Order multiple quantities to have extra material for larger projects or to experiment with different shaping styles.
