Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a Mode B Gigabit PoE Injector Patch Panel and what does it do?

A: A Mode B Gigabit PoE Injector Patch Panel allows you to deliver both electrical power and Gigabit (1000Mbps) data over a single Ethernet cable to up to 8 connected devices — such as IP cameras or Wi-Fi access points — that comply with the IEEE 802.3af standard. Mode B specifically uses the cable's spare wire pairs for power, making it compatible with a broad range of network hardware.

Q: Is this PoE patch panel compatible with my existing IP cameras or access points?

A: Yes — as long as your devices are IEEE 802.3af PoE-compatible, this Gigabit PoE injector patch panel will power and connect them without issue. It is universally compatible with 802.3af-compliant IP cameras, wireless access points, VoIP phones, and similar networked devices.

Q: Do I need a PoE-capable switch to use this injector patch panel?

A: No. That's the key advantage of a PoE injector patch panel — it adds Power over Ethernet capability to your existing standard (non-PoE) network switch or router. Simply connect your switch to the injector, and it will pass both data and power through to your connected devices.

Q: How many devices can I power with this 8-port PoE patch panel?

A: This panel supports up to 8 IEEE 802.3af devices simultaneously, making it ideal for small-to-medium security camera systems or multi-point Wi-Fi deployments.
