How to Use Your Stethoscope

Step 1 – Align the Headset

Before inserting the eartips, ensure they point forward (away from you). This aligns the eartubes naturally with your ear canals for maximum sound transmission. Hold the headset in front of you with one eartube in each hand, gently pull open, and insert the eartips.

Step 2 – Select Your Mode

Rotate the chest piece to select the adult diaphragm or the pediatric diaphragm. On either side, apply light pressure for low-frequency sounds and firm pressure for high-frequency sounds.

Step 3 – Switch to Open Bell (Optional)

On the pediatric side, remove the diaphragm and attach the appropriate bell size for specialized auscultation needs.
