Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the 12V 4-LED IR Illuminator Light do for my surveillance system?

A: This IR illuminator provides powerful infrared supplementary lighting for security cameras, greatly enhancing night-vision coverage in dark or low-light environments. It works alongside most standard CCTV and IP cameras to extend their effective nighttime range.

Q: How does the auto-sensing feature work on this IR illuminator?

A: The built-in ambient light sensor automatically detects when light levels drop below a set threshold — such as at dusk or in a darkened room — and switches the IR LEDs on. When ambient light returns, it switches off automatically, saving energy and extending LED lifespan.

Q: Is this IR illuminator compatible with my existing security camera setup?

A: Yes. This 12V DC auxiliary IR lamp is designed to integrate easily with most standard home and commercial security systems that use a 12V power supply. It acts as a supplementary light source and does not require complex configuration.

Q: Can this IR illuminator be used outdoors?

A: This unit is designed for use in surveillance applications including indoor and sheltered outdoor locations. Ensure appropriate weatherproofing measures are taken for fully exposed outdoor environments to ensure longevity.
